Everything that changed in the bot and the site, version by version.
Showcase: drag and search
In the showcase editor you can now drag a card from the available list onto the showcase (at the spot you drop it) and drag a showcase card back to the list to remove it. There is also a search by name, number or community. The number on top of the showcase cards is gone.
Home page tweaks
Small look and navigation tweaks to the home page for signed-in trainers.
- Section titles on the home page now match the "Latest update" style, aligned to the left.
- The community of the month banner now has the streamer's picture repeated and rotated in the background, like a custom banner, and their name links to Twitch.
- Each set in the rotation carousel now leads to the rotation page, replacing the "See the full rotation" button.
- The version number panel in the latest update banner now has a 3-row mosaic of this week's rotation set logos in the background, in a checkerboard of two shades of the same dark blue, one lighter and one darker.
- New Top collectors and Biggest communities sections, side by side at the bottom of the home page, with the same rankings as the introduction page.
Language in the address
Every address on the site now carries the language: /en/commands, /pt/comandos, /en/c/gaules.
- Shared links in the right language: whoever gets an
/en/...link sees the site in English, and the preview on Discord, WhatsApp and X comes out in English too, with its own image. - Language switcher takes you to the same page in the other language.
- The bot links in chat follow the command language:
#opensends/en/...,#abrirsends/pt/.... - Old links still work: without a language, the site takes you to yours.
New home page
Signing in with Twitch now lands you on a dedicated home page at /. If you're not signed in, you still see the usual introduction.
- Welcome message with your picture and a new line every hour.
- This week's rotation as a carousel: the set leaving, the one coming in and the ones staying, each with how long it stays in rotation.
- This week's rares: the rarest cards pulled in the last 7 days, in any community.
- Latest update in a banner, linking to the news page.
- Community of the month: the one that watched the most stream time this month, with the hours watched and how many trainers took part.
Weekly set rotation and 20 new sets
Boosters now come from a weekly rotation: 5 sets are live at a time, and every Monday at midnight (Brasília time) one set leaves and another comes in. A set that leaves comes back when the cycle closes, so its cards get scarcer while it's out.
- 20 new sets from every era: Jungle, Team Rocket, Gym Challenge, Neo Genesis, Neo Destiny, Expedition, FireRed & LeafGreen, Diamond & Pearl, HeartGold SoulSilver, Legendary Treasures, Evolutions, Cosmic Eclipse, Darkness Ablaze, Vivid Voltage, Brilliant Stars, Obsidian Flames, Surging Sparks, Prismatic Evolutions, Mega Evolution and Pitch Black, the newest Mega Evolution era set. With the 5 from before, that's 25 sets in the cycle.
- A single pool: watch-time boosters, welcome boosters and drop boxes all draw the set from this week's 5. Fossil and Evolving Skies are no longer drop box exclusives and join the rotation.
- Rotation page (
/rotation), open without signing in: a countdown to the next rotation, the set coming in and the one leaving (with its return date), and this week's sets. - `#rotation` command: how many sets are live, the time left until the next rotation and the page link.
- The drop rates page and the landing showcase now show this week's sets, with the date each one leaves.
- New rarities on the scale: LV.X, Prime, Amazing Rare, LEGEND and Mega Hyper Rare.
- The Expedition Base Set logo, which only exists as webp on TCGdex, now shows up in collections and set pages.
Boosters you already earned don't change: the set is drawn when the booster is earned, so a saved booster opens in its own set even after that set leaves the rotation.
The #droprate command
The new #droprate command posts a link in chat to a page with the available sets (watch time boosters and drop boxes) and the chance of each rarity showing up in a booster. The page opens without logging in and is also listed in /commands.
The bot needs mod again
A streamer installed the bot and, even with no chat restriction, the bot couldn't reply until it was modded. So mod is mandatory again: on /gym-leader it's log in with Twitch, request, pick the language, give the bot /mod in chat and turn it on. The app authorization at login (and the conditional mod step for restricted chats) are gone.
Duplicate card counter
In your collection, a card you own more than once now shows an "x2", "x3"... badge poking out of its top-right corner.
Drag to order the showcase
In "Edit showcase" on the profile and the community rare cards, the cards on display now sit in their own area at the top: drag to reorder (or use the arrow keys) and tap the X to take one off. Below are all your rare cards, and tapping one adds it to the showcase. We also fixed the card numbers, which were showing cut off.
Arrow and back-to-top button
The top of the home page now has a foil arrow pointing down, hinting at more content below. And when you scroll down any page, a button appears in the corner to jump back to the top.
#open shows the time left
When you type #open with no boosters, the bot now tells you how much stream time is left for the next one and mentions that #booster shows just the time.
Instant gym leader approval
While a gym leader request is pending, the site checks the result every few seconds. As soon as it is approved, the notice shows up and the /gym-leader page moves on by itself, with no refresh needed.
Zoom on boosters too
Card zoom now also works on the summary of a booster opening (the best card and the other ten) and on the history page of opened boosters.
Card zoom
Click a card in the collection, the profile showcase or the rare pulls (on the home page and in the community) to see it enlarged. Use the mouse wheel or the + and − buttons to zoom in and out, drag to move the card and, on your phone, pinch. Esc, the X or a click outside close it. On rare pulls and the showcase, the "View in collection" button takes you to the collection of whoever pulled the card.
Showcase with all five sets
The home page showcase only featured the Base Set. It is now a carousel with all five sets (Base Set, 151, Crown Zenith, Fossil and Evolving Skies), each with three highlight cards, the rarities in its pack and where it comes from: watch-time boosters or drop boxes only. It moves on by itself every 6 seconds, and you can also use the arrows, the dots, the keyboard or swipe on your phone.
More boosters, a drop box every 10 min and truly rare cards
Every 30 min of stream now earns a booster (it used to be 1 hour), and a drop box lands every 10 min while the stream is live, with 1 to 5 boosters: most boxes bring more than one. The draw happens 90 s after the announcement, and the bot tags every winner in chat.
In exchange, rare cards got much harder to pull:
- Base Set and Fossil: only 1 holo every 10 boosters (it used to be 1 in 3);
- 151: a Rare Holo no longer comes in every booster, and Special Illustration Rares show up about 1 in 300;
- Crown Zenith: the gold Pikachu (Secret Rare) comes in 1 of every 1000 boosters;
- Evolving Skies: the Umbreon and Rayquaza alt arts (Secret Rare) come in 1 of every 500.
Boosters you haven't opened yet already use the new odds.
Community showcase and a 4-card limit
The profile showcase and the "Rare pulls" section on the homepage and on the community page now show at most 4 cards (was 8). And the channel owner got the same control the profile already had: on /c/{streamer}, an "Edit" button next to "Rare pulls" lets them pick up to 4 of the rare cards already pulled in the community to feature; with no saved pick, it stays automatic (the rarest ones).
Profile showcase and Rare pulls say where the card was acquired
The profile showcase (/u/{trainer}) showed only @community below each picked card, without saying what that meant. The text now reads "acquired at [photo] @community", with the streamer's photo right before the @. The homepage's "Rare pulls" section got the same text below the puller's name.
Mod step when chat has a restriction
Found in production: channels with chat in followers-only mode (or slow mode, subscribers-only, unique chat) had a mute bot — commands worked behind the scenes (boosters were granted, trainers joined the community), but the chat reply was silently dropped by Twitch, because only the streamer and moderators are exempt from those restrictions (the bot authorized via channel:bot, without /mod, isn't). Now /lider, once the request is approved, checks the stream's chat and, if any of those restrictions is on, shows one more step ("Mod the bot") right after the language step — without blocking the activate step, which shows up alongside it.
Legal pages in the footer
The footer got four new pages: Privacy (what data the bot and the site handle, what for, and who it's shared with), Authorial guidelines (a fan-project notice, with no affiliation to The Pokémon Company), Cookies (the site's few essential cookies), and About me (the person behind PokeTCGBot).
No /mod to turn the bot on
Bringing the bot to your stream takes one step less: you no longer need to /mod the bot in chat. On /gym-leader, when you log in with Twitch, you let the bot see who is in chat and reply there, and that's it. Channels already using the bot with mod keep working as before.
Our own address
The site now lives at poketcgbot.com. The links the bot posts in chat already use the new address, and poketcgbot.vercel.app brings you here.
Trainer profile
Tapping a trainer in search now opens their profile (/u/{trainer}), styled like the community page:
- shortcuts to the trainer's Communities and Collections;
- the Showcase, featuring their rare cards. On your own profile, tap Edit to pick up to 8 cards or hide the showcase;
- the History of opened boosters, with each one's community. Tapping a booster shows everything it had right away, no animation, on its own page.
To open yours, use Profile in the account menu.
Sign in to see the rest
The home page, the booster opening and the streamers page stay open to everyone, so the link the bot sends in chat works without signing in. Every other page (collections, boosters, communities, rankings, commands and what's new) now asks you to sign in with Twitch, and after signing in you land back on the page you had opened.
Community pages for members only
On a streamer's community page, if you're signed in but haven't joined that community yet, you no longer see Boosters, My collection or the Market — just a note explaining that #start in the stream chat joins you and gives a welcome booster.
New name and address
The project is now called PokeTCGBot, and the site lives at poketcgbot.vercel.app. The links the bot posts in chat already use the new address, and the previous address brings you here.
Three new sets
Packs got more varied, and drop boxes got more sought-after.
- Every booster you earn by watching can now come from Base Set, 151 or Crown Zenith. The set is drawn for each booster.
- Drop boxes can hold Fossil or Evolving Skies boosters, the set of the Eeveelutions and Rayquaza. The Umbreon VMAX alt art is in there, but it is rare.
- New rarities in collections and rare pulls: V, VMAX, VSTAR, Radiant and Secret Rare.
- On the home page, the counter shows the total number of cards across all sets.
Boosters by community
Each booster belongs to the community where you earned it, and the site now makes that clear.
- In My boosters, each community has its own section, and tapping the streamer's name takes you to its Boosters tab.
- At the end of an opening, Open another booster takes you to the boosters of the same community. If none are left there, it goes to a community that still has some.
- The pack in the top bar is bigger, without the circle around it.
- On the boosters page, the pack grows and gets a foil shine when you hover over it.
Open your boosters on the site
You can now open your boosters right on the site, no chat command needed. Just log in with Twitch.
- The My boosters page lists every booster you haven't opened yet, grouped by the community where you earned it. Tap one to open it, with the same animation as the chat link.
- Every community now has a Boosters shortcut, next to My collection, with the boosters earned on that stream.
- When a new booster arrives, a notice with a shaking pack shows up once. It only comes back when another one arrives.
- While you have closed boosters, a pack shakes in the top bar with how many are left.
- At the end of an opening, the Open another booster button takes you straight to the rest.
Any command gets you in the game
No need to sign up first: the first command you type in chat puts you in the stream's community.
- The first time, the bot welcomes you with a welcome booster, and your command runs as usual. Only #commands doesn't sign you up.
- To join right away, just type #start. The old #tcgstart still works.
- To open a booster, just type #open (or #abrir). The old #open booster still works.
- The commands page has new illustrations, in the site's style.
Request to become a gym leader
To bring the bot to your stream, you now send a request at /gym-leader.
- Log in with Twitch, tell us how you found us and tap Send request.
- The answer comes within 1 day. Once your request is approved, you get an email and just need to mod the bot and turn it on.
- Approved, denied or expired, a notice shows up the next time you open the site, with a button to finish the setup or ask again.
- The steps show up one at a time: the next one only opens when the previous one is done. Copying the mod command already checks that step.
Account settings
The account menu now has Settings, at /settings.
- Streamers with the bot on their channel get the My channel tab: see the bot's status, remove the connection and connect it again.
- Everyone gets the Account tab, with the option to delete the account and all of its bot data. To confirm, just type your login.
- The site bar now has a Become a gym leader shortcut for anyone who doesn't have the bot on their channel yet.
Become a gym leader
Any streamer can now bring the bot to their own stream, straight from the site, at /gym-leader.
- Log in with Twitch, type
/mod botpokemontcgin your chat and tap Turn the bot on. We check the mod right away and the bot starts working. - Each channel is its own community, with boosters, collection, ranking and drop boxes.
- You can turn the bot off from the same page anytime. The community's collection and ranking stay saved.
- If the bot loses its mod, it stops counting and comes back by itself once the mod is given back.
- The home page's streamer section got a new look: the Twitch logo floating on the hologram base, with the Become a gym leader button.
Cards in graded slabs
Rare cards and the collection now look like graded cards: each one sits in an acrylic case, with the label on top and a frame in the rarity's color.
- On the set page, every card is in a slab, and each missing card is a faded slab of the same height.
- Rare cards on the home page and in communities take you to the collection of whoever pulled them, right at the card.
- The showcase's rarity scale uses the same frame as the slabs.
- The community's
@streamerlinks to their stream on Twitch. - This changelog page debuts, with the site version in the footer.
Drop box on stream
A surprise box can drop at any moment during the stream, with 1 to 3 Fossil boosters.
- The bot announces the box in chat, and community members type
#jointo enter the draw. - The winner is drawn 3 minutes later and announced in chat.
- Rare cards are now announced when they flip on screen, not at
#open booster: no spoilers before the reveal.
Light and sound when opening
Opening a booster got more exciting.
- Pack and lights in the site's lilac and cyan gradient, with a dark veil when the cards appear.
- Rare cards shake before flipping and burst into light; holos get a spinning halo.
- Sound effects synthesized on the fly, with a button to turn them on and off.
- The revealed card tilts and grows when the mouse hovers over it.
Night-sky home page
The site got a real home page and a night sky on every screen.
- Hero with Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur floating over a hologram.
- How it works in four steps, the Base Set showcase and the competition: top collectors, biggest communities and rare pulls.
- Addresses in each language, like
/comandosand/commands. - New site icon, with the two cards and the Poké Ball.
Communities per streamer
Each stream became a community, with its own collection and ranking.
#tcgstartjoins the streamer's community and gives you 1 welcome booster.- Commands swapped
